Hero?

I bet 750 on the flop, leaving 1020 behind, because I wanted villain to push over me or fold. The worst possible thing happens, and he just calls - AND an ace hits the board.

I am shoving the turn, can't see how villain hit that ace and if he did, we have to go broke. FWIW I'm betting more on the flop.

Bet a little more on the flop, a shove is good on the turn, if he called with some random ace we are just going broke.

Thanks for your replies, guys.

Pot is 1250 on the flop, where nothing scares me, and I have ~1750 behind.

Why do you bet more on the flop, and how much?

its just always good to bet closer to what the pot is, on this flop your not getting away from this hand anyways, i say bet around 900-1000, and obv get it in on the turn

Maybe I'm just a freak, but I never bet more than half of my stack without moving all in (maybe except some HU-scenarios). Is that a bad way to think?

Well, effectively I don't do that too.
But I sometimes bet (when I decided to go broke) only a part of my full stack, to induce weaker hands to shove over me.
It works out quite well.
If you just push, you might scare some of those out.
