live 6/12, KQo HJ
Moderately tight game without any hands going 5+ players to the flop, although 4 is quite common. No good reads on villain in this hand.
Folded to Hero with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in HJ, who raises. CO 3-bets, BN and blinds fold, Hero calls. Flop [6.5 SB]: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] We've only been at the table for 20 minutes or so, and the villain has perhaps slightly overplayed a couple of hands, but hasn't 3-bet PF yet. Line? |

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
I'd C/R the flop. If he calls, I'd bet/fold the turn UI, bet/something-else if I improve. If he 3 bets the flop, I'd call and check/fold the turn UI.

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
Besides a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], what do you consider improvement on the turn?
This hand makes me want to barf. I see: JJ-whatever his bottom PP 3-betting range not paying off; AK crushing me to two outs; AA, QQ, AQ crushing me even worse; worse aces that he might 3-bet PF calling down but with the previous two ranges making it difficult for me to extract much value if I hit a K or a Q; and being able to push KK off a hand if I wanted to try. I do have backdoor flush and straight draws though! |

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
bet the flop to see where you are. by betting you might (probably not) get K's off the hand but if he has something else like AK, you will probably get raised and then you can play it from there.

Bet the flop, CR here is pretty bad.

Everyone else is right, I'm wrong. Don't check-raise, just bet and see what happens. I don't do well in these spots
How are people dealing with the "he raises, you peel and a brick hits on the turn" scenario we're going to see 50% of the time? |

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
given the read it seems like a c/c down UI. maybe b/f the river.

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
You could really just b/f every street. I mean you basically ahve to be praying he's going insane with JJ.
You're drawing to 3 or less outs here if raises and you don't know which ones. |

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
Heads up I don't mind b/f the flop. It's very doubtful that co would raise the flop with a hand that didn't beat yours. This gives you 2 - 4 outs including bd straight and bd flush outs and you only have one player to pay you off if you hit.

Re: live 6/12, KQo HJ
I've seen JJ raise a flop bet here much more often than I've seen JJ fire at all three streets on this flop. So I opt for James' c/c on the flop at least.
Flop [6.5 SB]: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero check/calls. Turn [4.25 BB]: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, villain bets... Basically this card only helps me against AJ and down? |
