Default who is a math whiz?

the main goal ofa poker player is to win $ by having YOUR OPPONENT MAKE MISTAKES - and not run up into coolers, or get sucked out on by fish with worse hands,

this may or may not seem obvious but what all this discussion on these boards comes down to are two questions:

'what worse hand will call if I bet?'
'what better hand will fold if I bet?'

once you can answer both these questions and come up with bi polar hand ranges all you need to do is choose a % the pot you are going to bet and match that up against fold equity for bluffs and you can quickly learn how to play winning poker.

if someone can just teach me how to do that math i'll probably be able to beat sbrugby heads up.

does anyone know the mathematical formula that will determine whether betting (and what amounts) vs checking become + ev or - ev

Bet a large % of the pot when you got it, a small % of the pot when you don't. Its as easy as that.

If you bet $99 it looks cheaper to them, so they are more likely to call
