Default The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for Xbox 360

Anyone played this game before? I am thinking about buying it because of its positive reviews but I rented it before hand to see what it's like. So far, I've played in one 1 large underground building type of area and I'm about to go into another one. The whole game isn't all about going underground right? There's a lot of underground stuff, but the outside world is pretty amazing too. It's definitely in my top 5 or 10 games of all time, but RPG's are probably my favorite type of game to play.

Its 29.99 tomorrow used at Gamestop. I've never played it before but this is basically 50% off the normal price so I figure its worth a shot.

there is a lot of overworld stuff, but the basic gameplay mechanics don't change much from the starter dungeon. so if you're not crazy about that, you may want to pass. or just wait a few more months until you can get it new for $20.

If you like the open ended american style RPGs this is the best of the best. The game is a lot of hack and slash, but the quests are very well done and interesting. It does the best job of creating a living world that I've ever seen in an RPG, even if the Radiant AI is still kind of basic. Although it has some problems the game is definately worth $30. I'd say its the best RPG of all time.

It's certainly the most popular, although it lacks most of the heart of previous installments. It's definitely worth the $30, and I think you might even be able to install mods? I'm not entirely sure, but they at least double the game's value.

A lot of the game takes place in 'dungeons'. Whether they're underground or Oblivion Gates or something else. Some quests take place in the towns or outdoors - but not a lot.

The game is a lot of fun, IMO. Some of the quest lines are really good.

Gamespot has voted it RPG of the year and it was in contention for game of the year as well.

As for mods, on the 360 you can only install the official mods from Bethesda. And you have to pay for them. Except for Mehrunes Razor which is free for the rest of the year.

I just bought it from Gamestop for 30 used. Thanks for the mods advice, I'm about to check that out.
