Default Craps - Odds Bets

I see/read/play online (play money only) about betting pass odds and come odds of 2 units, sometimes 3 units... most of the casinos i've been to allow 10x odds bet, is this unusual? how does this effect the ev??

Thanks

ev is a complicated thing when it comes to pass line + odds bets. here's the thing - if you want to put in $100 of total action, your EV is higher if you bet $10 on pass and $90 behind then it is if you bet $50 on pass and $50 behind. However, once you place a $100 bet and a point is rolled, your EV doesn't change if you back it with $1000 or $100.

the higher the odds, the lower your "overall" house edge on your action will be (though the vig on the original pass line bet always remains the same). only drawback to more odds is higher variance, so just make sure you're properly bankrolled.

always bet the table minimum on the come-out roll and then put as much as you can behind it.

You will find some smaller casinos, especially in smaller markets that do 10x odds but for the most part the max you will find is 5x. LV strip casinos are all on a 3-4-5x set up.

Here's a good one for you.

High Rollers Casino for Playstation 2 let's you bet 5 bucks on the Don't Pass Line and increase your bet after the point is made.

I beat the game in one day.
