Default Playing small pp in a raise pot..

Hi, I am new to Omaha, I have been playing NL Hold'em for 1 year so I know odds etc..
I don't know really what hands to play (except premiums hands), do you play pairs to hit a set ? In hold'em it is a very strong weapon but in Omaha ? and any double suited cards ?

Default Re: Playing small pp in a raise pot..

Generally you can limp in the MP/LP with stuff like a bare QQ and JJ hoping to hit top set, but you wouldnt play it for big raises. You can haul in some nice sized pots by flopping sets in Omaha too

You dont want to be playing any ds hands but if it has some co-ordination such as AK98ds or 7543ds, it is a v.playable in position. Stuff such as JT25ds is worthless as even if you hit your flush you could easily get out kicked by an A high or K high flush and there is little other ways of making a strong hand

Generally starting out in Omaha your pre-flop play tight in EP and try and a try to limp into pots with position with marginal hands
