Peter Luger\'s TR (Brooklyn)
so we arrived, a party of 5, myself and 4 other family members we ordered:
Beers Steak for 3 Lamb Chops (1 order to share) Hash Potatoes French Fries Creamed Spinach Onion Rings The steak and Lamb chops were something akin to true perfection, here was the steak (medium rare): and here is my plate, with a piece of lambchop on the upper left and a few pieces of steak, onion rings potatoes truly one of the great meals of my life!!! |

I ate there a few years ago, the steak I had there was still the best I've had to date...

Re: Peter Luger\'s TR (Brooklyn)
More details pls.
Did you have to get a reservation? How long to wait if not? Cost? Why did you need to put steak sauce on the greatest steak ever? |

Re: Peter Luger\'s TR (Brooklyn)
obviously, reservation had to be made like 10 days or so in advance so we didn't really have to wait, cost was a tad under $400 with tip and everything which is actually pretty reasonable, (we didn't get any wine).
The steak obv does not need the sauce but I love that sweet stuff so i couldn't help myself |

bacon. . .you missed the bacon.
next time, get 1.5 orders for the table. 4 people means 6 orders of bacon. |

Re: Peter Luger\'s TR (Brooklyn)
Agree with the bacon comment, it's the second best item on the menu (behind steak). Also, I cannot believe the waiters let you get away with ordering steak for 3 when you were a party of 5.

is this place really that good? my chef buddy went there and said he was underwhelmed, which caused me to avoid it.

Most chefs are going to stick their nose up at it due to the relatively simplicity of the menu. But what they do, they do very well IMO. I've been there twice, and for me, I enjoy the atmosphere, the old bar, the cold cold Brooklyn Lagers, and of course the steaks. If you go expecting Craftsteak or Delmonicos types of experiences, you'll be disappointed. Doesn't mean that one is necessarily better than the other overall though. |
