I'm playing in a live NL MTT with about 20-25 players. $200 buy in, no rebuys or add ons; $10,000 chips. Each level will be either 20 or 25 minutes.
My question is, how do I adjust to the tourniment being w/o antes. The blinds will be at: 50/100 75/150 100/200 150/300 200/400 300/600 400/800 500/1,000 600/1,200 800/1,400 1,000/2,000, ect. There won't be any antes. So do I push w/ 8-12 BB, or when my M gets down toward 4 or 5? Is it OK to be pushing w/ any ace or king in EP if I have $5,000 and the blinds are 2/400? Or should just fold those and wait a bit longer? Sorry if these are basic questions, I usually play cash limit games. |

20 minute levels in live play are very short, thats about 15 hands.
Figure out early who the complete calling stations are early on and value bet them, but don;t push into them preflop. Push early and often into the other players. Also, it would help if you can find out who the 200 bucks is a big deal to as they won't want to bust to early, you know, so they get their money's worth. Ken |
