Default Best tournament i have played in

I would like to talk about one of the best tournaments i have ever played in. I am sure many of you are going to be shocked when i say that it was held in my national casino "casino du Liban". After reading all the horrific stories and experiences that people are going through at the wsop, i couldnt be more than happy that i had the chance to play in such a tournament.

Keeping in mind that this was the FIRST tournament held at the casino, there were numerous mistakes with dealers not being able to read the board, or miscounting pots, but i have no doubts that these over time will be fixed (as well as other technicalities, like the blind structure). It was the first time that most people were dealing poker or handling a tournament, however they got the organizer of the dublin tournament to handle it and he did a fine good job.

The reasons why it was the best tournament i have played in, is because of the service, the amenities, and obviously the competing players. For a field of 120 players, there were at least 15 waitresses serving free drinks of any choice. Also, most importantly the dinner break was a world class, yes i repeat world class buffet with a pianist and an accompanying singer to entertain the players, seated either on a terrace with a breath taking view, or inside by a bar(they had a big chocolate fountain in the desert area, along with 20 various cakes and pies). For the viewers there were four cameras hovering over the table areas and they would zoom in on the table where there was the most action (players were allowed to bring a friend, gf who also got free drinks and food also).

And most importantly, most of the players were extremely friendly, as most lebanese are, but even more importantly most had no clue what was going on although they shelled out 1100 dollars which is quite hefty for this country.
Some of the plays i witnessed were the following,: a guy limping with aa on the button after four players limped, a guy on the final table calling off half his stack with 93 suited to an all in raise utg (he won obv). Another guy folding a 9k all in raise while he was bb (5k-10k) and had a 100k stack, i could go on for hours.

Anyway it was truly a breath of fresh air and the casino here (which is owned by the governement) is intending on going places with these poker tournaments. Hopefully if things clear up politically here, many europeans and hopefully americans will be able to enjoy this experience because unlike other places, the poker player was treated with great respect.
