Default spike in spam email recently?

Seems to me that I've been getting a lot more spam in my email the last month or so. Ordinarily, I'd assume that I just got put on someone's list, somehow. But I also have a vague recollection of reading, relatively recently, about a spike in junk email.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Incidentally, I use Outlook. Don't know if that matters much.

spam has increased about 100% in the last 8 months. There was a court ruling against a major blacklist company that I think had some impact, along with a new method of spam, which sends a gif file with text in the image rather than text in an email, making it harder to detect as spam.

Wynton,

Your wife might really be appreciative if you clicked on one of those enhancement links and ordered something. You'd be like Bob in those commercials, the envy of all your neighbors .

You can also take the route of only accepting emails from pre-approved persons, though if you forget someone they get an error message. It's a pity when it comes to that.
