Default Paris WPT Qualifier Win on Fulltilt

Is it possible to cash in my $16,000 package on fulltilt? The rules say that the funds will be deposited into my account once I show proof of my age. I will then be responsible for arranging travel and paying the buyin. If thats true, whats to stop me from simply withdrawing the cash from my account and pocketing it? Anybody had experience with fulltilt in this situation?

The funds they are referring to are probably the excess travel expenses. FTP will most likely take 10K Euro and buy a seat in your name, but I'm not sure. They won't be depositing 16K in your account.

I've wondered about this too because this, the Winner's Choice, and some of their other similiar tournys (not WSOP related) say in their rules, as OP states, that they'll deposit the amount in your account and that you'll be responsible for travel and buy-in . That seems to indicate that their is nothing that would force you to actually play in the event.

yea ditto.. I read the rules for similar tourneys like the Irish Open and it said you're responsible for buying in and it will be deposited to your account.. which makes me confused as to the obligation a player has to participate in the event.

When I won my winners choice seat they handed me the money to buyin directly at the counter, 2k in my account for travel etc...but im not sure if their policy has changed since, i am pretty sure you will not recieve the

How long ago did you win your seat? The terms for the Winner's Choice currently say, "Full Tilt Poker will deposit funds sufficient to cover your tournament entry into your Full Tilt Poker player account. Please note, you are responsible for buying your seat at this event." I know I read them about 6 months ago and they said the same thing which seemed strange to me. The sections for the Paris and the Irish Open have comparable language. The process you're describing actually makes a lot more sense.
