choosing a major
after a year of college at university of florida (yeah we cant help winning every national championship there is), i have narrowed down my major to 3 choices: econ from our liberal arts school, econ from our school of business, and finance from the school of business. all of them have the same core classes that ill enjoy, and some non-core ones that i wont, so which one ill enjoy more while I'm here is of little matter to me.
I was wondering if anyone that works in these fields could differentiate between them? How would the liberal arts econ degree do against the business one when applying for jobs? which of these degrees are worth the most? Also an option, although it would probably require an extra semester, is to do finance major with econ minor. comments/thoughts? |

Re: choosing a major
I'd go finance or busines econ. Employers will value the fact that you've taken accounting and such much more than polisci and other liberal arts nonsense.

Re: choosing a major
woah for the record, i dont like it any more than you all... im a university of louisville fan. its just that whenever i tell ppl where i go to school, all they want to bring up is sports...
but i cant find any information on what exactly the difference is between a finance and econ degree in terms of what sort of jobs you do with each one. |
