5CD posts are fewer and fewer. I've been tryin higher fixed limit games on PS (I typically play the micro PL game). Damn if it isn't softer; the bad players are just as bad, and the experts from Kiev are no where to be found.
This gem of a hand came up after 60 hands in a loosing session that made the session +EV all by itself. Check out BB's strong play. And did both CO and button call a cap with just a pair of K's at best? Limit 5 Card Draw ($2/$4) (PM me for converter link, seems to be censored here) SB ($61), Seat 3 BB ($132.50), Seat 4 Hero ($57), Seat 5 MP ($171.50), Seat 6 CO ($57), Seat 1 Button ($17), Seat 2 SB posts $1. BB posts $2. Hero is UTG with [Ah As Th 6s Ac] Round 1: (1.50 SB) Hero raises. MP folds. CO calls. Button calls. SB folds. BB raises. Hero raises. Betting is capped. CO calls. Button calls. BB folds. Hero discards Th 6s. CO takes 3. Button takes 3. Hero has [Ah As Ac Qh 9c] Round 2: (7.75 BB) Hero bets. CO folds. Button calls. Pot: (9.75 BB - $39) Results: Total pot $39 | Rake $1 Button had [7h 2c 8h 7s 7c]. Hero had [Ah As Qh 9c Ac] and won ($38) with three of a kind, Aces. |

Why did you take 2 instead of 1?

The games at 2-4 and higher on PokerStars are sometimes soft
because there are one or two new players. Most of the time, the game is populated with regulars, so you're in for a treat if there is even one "newbie". Depending on how poor your opponents play, drawing one might be better (you may get a weak opponent to raise you on the end with trips); on the other hand, you do increase your chances of making a big hand a tiny bit. At the higher limits (with decent or tough opponents), drawing two is normal. This hand reminded me of a 10-20 hand I played eons ago on PokerStars. I held AAAxy on the button when the utg raised, the hijack and cutoff both cold called and after the reraise it was four-way. The draws were three, three(!), one and one, but I didn't get paid off. But I thought the PL/NL microgames on PokerStars were often soft? (I've played them on and off) Isn't that still the case even now? |

The 2/4 is not generally soft. I think it's softer than the 1/2 sometimes, look like you sat down at the right time.
