I think it's a marginal call preflop. Otherwise I think villains calling with an 8, pushing / calling with a draw. I believe the raise by the villain indicates you are below his range.

I would not play this hand pre flop - not worth it. You risk a lot for only a few chips.

THEN

with that flop you really are in a tight spot - top pair and no respect! He thinks you have over cards so if you bet pot he will bluff raise you. NOW WHAT! do you want to risk everything with a tiny 99 to HIS overcards or better?

Big whoop - you win 1500 meaningless chips OR lose everything.

When playing a hand like this think ahead of the problems you could get into IF you don't hit one of your two outs!

i dont think i wanna play this hand against lags who have position. seems weak but i'd proly fold pre. the problem is that if the flop comes the way it did and you lead out 1 bet rarely takes the pot down coupled with the fact taht you never know where you're at in the hand and will have to fold if anything scary comes down on the turn. as played with a pf call i like cr or crai a lot more but u really need a solid read on his pf range.

Against this type of player, I get it in on this flop, too. Draws and overcards make up a large % of his range. Preflop is fine, too, by the way.

I like to win 1500 meaningless chips.
Within my stack, they are no more meaningless.
