Default Wireless internet cards that let you connect from anywhere

Anyone know what the best one is? I need to buy one, and also a new phone. My main priority though is the phone card, and which one has a faster and more reliable connection.

I need to go buy them today, so any help is much appreciated.

It's hard to say which one is the best or most reliable. Most people who have them have had only one so can't compare.

Sprint brags about their speed.
Cingular brags about their international coverage now.

I've had Verizon Wireless for almost 2 yrs and freaking love it. No complaints really.

Might switch to Cingular eventually if I hear enough good things about them and if the other companies lag behind a bit on the international coverage.

Supposedly Sprint had the best speed and Verizon has the best coverage. Your choice.

But Verizon is evil, so [censored] them.

This is going to be for my trips to live European tourneys; I'm going to Paris for three weeks in two days and will use my card for internet access there. In that case, would you recommend Cingular?

No such thing. They all have a coverage area of far less then anywhere. Cingular (now ATT) has slower speeds, and high prices, but the speed should be plenty for poker. I had verizon, and it worked well, and had decent coverage when I traveled. I now have sprint as I got a great deal on it ($30a month unlimited data, 500 mins etc, less then 1/2 of what I was paying Verizon). I like it, works nicely in my area, have not traveled much since I got it yet to see how the coverage is.

Bottom line, check the coverage in your area. If you have Sprint high speed data in you area, give it strong consideration.

Cingular is advertising that they have coverage in major european cities.
I don't think the others do.

I'm really not sure though.

Obviously you can call and ask. One should probably find out if the international coverage is part of the whole plan or if you have to pay even more for that, even by the minute.

Verizon and Sprint aren't advertising international coverage yet but it could be in the works for them for all I know.

Verizon phones/air cards do not work in Europe at all (I am a Verizon agent and get asked this alot). Europe is all GSM. Go with Cingular if their data works there.

If you are going international then you want a card that will work on GSM networks. Cingular is your only choice.
