Default Stud8 - slowplaying wheel

Reads: Seat 4 is incredibly bad. It would be no surprise if he had a lone pair of kings here. He is playing like loose stud hi.

Do you think slowplaying 5th is appropriate here? I'm giving seat 2 and 4 a chance to catch up for high, but I considered it worth it at the time. In retrospect I think I should probably have raised 5th, since I think seat 3 and 4 are bad enough to call the raise, and if seat 2 can call a bet he can also call a raise.

I feel a little unlucky that seat 2 caught that caught a T on 6th, and that he wouldn't even help me cap the river.

Default Re: Stud8 - slowplaying wheel

I would raise on 5th, this is probably the move you would do without the wheel to try and kick-out seat 3. So this may help you get callers.

I don't blame the T for not helping you cap on the river. He's playing for half the pot and may not be winning that. If he raises, what would call him as he must have the boat. The king paired his door and may have a better boat himself.

It would have been interesting if the king raised or bet on the river, you would have raised and I wonder if the ten would have called or fold.

Especially with two players behind you, I think I like the slowplay here. If I were Seat 3, your call would likely convince me that the 3 paired you.

I'm not quite sure what to make of Seat 2's hand but I think the guy catching another King on 5th might scare him out of the hand for a single bet anyway, so a raise doesn't have that much value since you'll often get HU vs the Kings.

You'll often be in a good shape on 6th if you catch a brick since the others won't be too scared of your hand. You could get a C/R in if KK bets and Seat 3 catches a baby which is probably the best case scanario.
