Strange things are afoot with my wife\'s car
I woke up really early this morning, sat up, and immediately saw an orange glow outside my bedroom window. Concerned that we were all going to die in a fire, grease or otherwise, I went and looked outside. It turns out that the passenger-side front hazard light on my wife's BMW X5 has spontaneously turned on, the glow I was seeing was the reflection off my garage door. The car is turned off, the light switch is off, etc etc etc.
This is a short or some [censored], right? I don't think we have the time to get this fixed until Friday, should this be fixable (at least temporarily) by me? I'm guessing I can pull a fuse or something. No immediate info to be found on Google. Help? |

Might it have been the indicator parking light thing which comes on when the car is off but the indicator is on.

I'd check the manual before pulling fuses, you're liable to disable lights that she needs to drive (turn signal etc.).

I don't know anything about cars. I opened this thread cause I read it as:

Wait, I forgot about driving in L.A.
Turn signals are for pussies. |

I don't know the answer, but this is obviously the evil doings of your illegally parked neighbors from across the street.

Re: Strange things are afoot with my wife\'s car
CRISIS AVERTED BEFORE 7AM I AM LIKE THE GODDAMN MARINES
I started the car and the turn signal lever was indeed in the right-turn position. I really doubt that's supposed to turn the right-front hazard light on when the ignition is off, so I guess this is still some sort of problem. If anyone knows whether this is a problem I can ignore or one I need to worry about I'd appreciate it. |
