Multitabling and sitting out: ethic?
Today I was MT the 27s and accidentally I did not realize I was sitting out in 1 table.
I was playing in at least 6 tables with a well known (at least to me) 2+2er. Am I wrong if I expect this person to inform me of the situation? I have always done it in the past. |

I do not expect to be notified in such a case. Those other guys are opponents, not friends.

I never called anyone friend, but then you are taking advantage of a situation.
This is a community, everyone is happy to take money out of the others overplaying them, we play a lot togheter and we are here to improve and learn how to exploit fish not how to dodge money out of each other. |

I think you should respond. That being said it is very likely he was MTTing and didn't notice or just figured you timed out one hand or something like that.

Re: Multitabling and sitting out: ethic?
I have told other multitablers this once or twice even when they weren't 2p2, but I also wouldn't expect to be told or get mad at all when they didn't say anything. IMO it won't help or hurt my game significantly with them sitting in or out, and if I look out for others generally they will probably return the favor.
FWIW I probably would only do this for people I play with regularly and who play a significant amount of tables, if someone is 4 tabling and sitting out then I would just laugh. |

Re: Multitabling and sitting out: ethic?
i know if i am >12 tabling, I won't likely to notice somebody sitting out unless he is just on my left or until like 5 or 6-handed.

If I notice and I have the time and I don't hate him then I'll tell him. I wouldn't say it's unethical to NOT tell someone though.

Re: Multitabling and sitting out: ethic?
First off, no, you you shouldn't "expect" it. It's nice, and neighborly, and whatever, but you have no right to "expect" it.
Second I have a real problem with the below quoted. Let's take it apart some. [ QUOTE ] This is a community, everyone is happy to take money out of the others overplaying them, [/ QUOTE ] yeah, it's a community of people who are trying to make money by playing better than others. playing better includes noticing when you are sitting out, to an extent. if you can't handle the number of tables you are playing, that's your problem, not your opponents. and yes, other 2p2ers are your opponents. [ QUOTE ] we play a lot togheter and we are here to improve and learn how to exploit fish not how to dodge money out of each other. [/ QUOTE ] no, you play a lot together and you are here to learn and improve and exploit the fish and how to take money from each other. we're not here to make friends who we softplay. and yes, this would basically be softplaying, if you wouldn't expect the same to be done for some random fish. even if you would expect the same to be done for the fish, it's your problem, not the other guy's. there's nothing in the rules saying you have to be "nice." |
