Resolution Question: 1680 x 1050 vs. 1600 x 1200
I'd really like to get a Lenovo T60 laptop (and stick with a 15" screen) but the max resolution would be 1680 x 1050. Ideally, I was looking for 1600 x 1200+.
Could anyone give me an idea of the difference in 1680 x 1050 vs. 1600 x 1200 resolution for a 4-tabler? Does anyone know of any notebooks with 15" screens that support a 1600 x 1200+ resolution? Any 17" laptops lighter than the standard ~8lbs.? Thanks. |

Re: Resolution Question: 1680 x 1050 vs. 1600 x 1200
I am also interested in this. Also, and even more so, between 1600 X 1200 and 1900 X 1200. I currently play on 1600 X 1200 Dell 2001's(I think), but am thinking of switching back to a laptop. Would like to play 6 tables on one WITHOUT resizing (I play mostly UB and hate their mini). Sure I could plug it into the Dell 21", but that kind of defeats the purpose of the laptop.
Also, what about 1400 X 900? Anyhelp finding a laptop with 1900 X 1200 would be appreciated, for my guess is, that is what I need. I DON'T want a Dell. Here is the best (Cheapest) I have found so far. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834114299 How is that one? Edit: Also, is there ANY 15" laptops that have 1600 X 1200? These 1900 X 1200 17" laptops are pretty steep in price; I would love to get something more in the 1k range. |

Re: Resolution Question: 1680 x 1050 vs. 1600 x 1200
OP, 1600x1200 does 4 tables without resizing. 1680x1050 does 4 tables at 88% resizing. This is just fine. But if you want to play more than 4 ...
Gila, you can't play 6 tables w/o resizing on a 1920x1200, but 1920x1200 is still way better than 1600x1200 for 6 tables. For table resolution and resizing %, check out my post here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=4#Post11311139 |

Re: Resolution Question: 1680 x 1050 vs. 1600 x 1200
Nevermind, I bought the Dell, even though my experience with them as been less than steller. Just hard to beat a 1900X1200 2.0ghz, 160g HD, 2gb RAM, core 2 for the 1109 (after 300 coupon) I paid. Nothing else I found even came close. The one I mentioned above (Toshiba, I think) only had a core, not core 2, only had 1gb RAM, and only a 90-day warrenty. Although it did have a little bigger HD; but it was $500 more too. Now, if this thing acutally works for more than 1 year, then I will be happily surprised.
