$1+.1 10 person SNG, KQ in SB
non turbo UB SNG, 4 players left, 3 get paid, 50-30-20 breakdown.
1s (~5k):Folds 2s (~3k):Folds SB (Hero) (~3k):KQo BB (~4k):? The situation is that we've been on the bubble for quite some time (20 minutes or more), and blinds just went up to 150-300 around 4 or 5 hands ago. The chip stacks have been fairly similar to this for a while now. BB seems to be a solid player for this level, although he tends to open raise 3.5 BBs no matter what (he raised to 1050 a hand or two before), and has shown the tendency to call raises instead of RRing Pre-flop. He's shown the ability to lay down a hand, and I'm pretty sure my image isn't too bad. I suspect he'll call with most pairs, AK-A10, maybe a bit more, maybe some high kings, etc. Most of my raises in the past were about 3x BB, but with the blinds having gone up, I feel like I have to go all-in here, because I really don't want to play a flop against this guy. So, I go all in. Is that the play I pretty much have to make here, or should I have considered folding more seriously? Opinions? |

Push all day, the blinds are getting high enough that it is bubble time and this hand is a push against any range (based on the stacks/blinds).

Re: $1+.1 10 person SNG, KQ in SB
Thanks.
That's what my gut feeling was, but when he thought for a bit and called with A-6 and I lost, I was suddenly second guessing myself. Oh, and just for the record, any suggestions as to the entire range I should be shoving here? I'm guessing something like Any pair any Ace either any king or kings down to K6 or something, any two broadway, and maybe 10-9s? |

Re: $1+.1 10 person SNG, KQ in SB
bad call.
edit: Just to reassure you, he needs to be calling with 85% (22+,A2+,K2+,Q2+,J2+,T2+,92+,84o+,82s+,75o+,73s+,6 5o,63s+,53s+) of hands for this to not be a +$EV shove. For him to call with A6o, you need to be shoving 77% (22+,A2+,K2+,Q2+,J2+,T2+,92+,84o+,82s+,75o+,73s+,6 5o,63s+,53s+) |

Nope, you did right. In reply to one of your prior posts, did you ever find some software to do what you are wanting to do? Check the sticky or check out http://www.sngegt.com/. There is a free version that allows you to input hands (autoread version is extra), so you can see if you made the right play. Try it with your hand for further proof that you did.

@Devin: Oh wow, thanks, thats a much wider range than I anticipated.
@crfergu: Thanks, I'll take a good look at that program. |

Re: $1+.1 10 person SNG, KQ in SB
That program is actually pretty cool, thanks for the heads up!
When using the "compute all" setting to see the entire range of hands I could/should be pushing to be +EV in a certain situation by a certain amount, what is kind of the standard +EV% I should be looking for to make something worthwhile? The default is set to +.5% EV, but I have no idea how "profitable" that is. Thanks for all the help guys! |
