Default OutKast - Idlewild

25 Songs
5 Interludes and an Intro, so 19 real songs.

2 total trash (Mutron Angel, A Bad Note)

8-10 Awesome songs
- Mighty "O"
- Idlewild Blues
- Morris Brown
- Call the Law
- Buggface
- PJ & Rooster
to name a few

The rest fall between meh (N2U, LIfe is Like a Musical) and pretty good (When I Look in Your Eyes).

Definitely a buyable CD. Yeah, there's some stuff you won't listen to, but more than enough songs to throw on the MP3 player for a long time to come.

the beats seamed cool, but I am afraid they may be moving to far away from what made they REALLY great. I don't know how much I will listen to this.

I've had idlewild for awhile. Its a pretty good album, but not by Outkast standards.

tsc,

That's what I said about Love Below/Speakerboxxx
Now I love it.

GS,

I think you're wrong. There are as many legitimate good songs on this album as any other single disc they've ever put out. It's the fact that there were some bad songs that makes it seem that way (although, Mamacita blows and Aquemini is my favorite).

Well, I do really like that album, but if the next outkast albums follow that path and move farther away from their roots, the less I seem to like them.

I will take the first one, but all have gotten heavy rotation from me.

You don't like Aquemini??

Anyways, to the OP, after seeing the preview to the movie, I have no urge whatsoever to listen to this album.

This is just not true. Southerplayallisticadillacmizik is good from beginning to end, ATLiens has only ONE track that isn't blow-your-mind good.

Idlewild is, at it core, the soundtrack to a musical - and IMO this shows when listening to then album.

Did you think Outkast was going to make Casablanca? Obviously the movie will be awful. I have no clue how you could deduce the music won't be worth listening to from the preview.
