Default Live: 2/5nl UTG makes it $40

I just recently sat, so no good reads. I'm in MP2 with JJ and call. Villain has about $175 behind. Hijack calls as well w/ ~300, I cover both.

Flop($125)Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain checks, Hero...

Do you have a diamond?

I think betting/checking are about the same here, except since it's live I'd be more inclined to bet if I have more $$ in case I need to rebuy, cause that sucks if we don't. Anyway, I'd probably bet/fold, but checking isn't the worst thing that could happen.

without good reads, this is tough. I'd look at the table and take a guess in my mind at how tough the game really is. If it isn't, AQ is perfectly optional. If it is, you could easily have the best of it.
I think I would have repopped PF. As played, I think I'd make some sort of feeler bet ($20-40) to see if I was in front, but make sure you are tellin the same story as PF. That story is strength as you called his live $40 PF and with his check on the flop, I'd prefer to continue showing that muscle.

i would make it $100 pf in hopes to isolate the $175 stack.

i would probably bet $80 and fold to the HJ if he raises and call the shorty if he shoves.

Not to say that a 3bet pf is bad, because it's not. But wouldn't it be better to get it in on a decent flop given villain's stack size? If he had like 120-160 to start, i think it's a no brainer, but he started the hand with $210.

yeah, stacks are a bit awkward. you might be right. the problem with live play though is that multiway pots are so frequent and its hard to get in a HU pot vs. said villan, leaving for stickier spots.

The beauty of calling pf in this spot, is that most of these weak-tighties won't cbet without a hand.
