live 300 NL str8 draw on flop
OK so Its a 1-3 live game, 9 handed. Villain is passive and in MP. He only raises preflop with big pocket pairs.
I have ~$340 stack villain covers I have 67o at cutoff and 2 limpers (villain is one of the limpers) I raise it up to 18 preflop, and both limpers call, so its 3 way to the flop. flop comes A58 rainbow checks around to me. I bet 40, then villain c/r to 140 total, so its 100 to me. I have ~280 behind. Hero? |

Re: live 300 NL str8 draw on flop
I am very rarely (I only say very rarely because I don't like the word never in poker) raise a hand this bad live after 2 limpers. As long as you are raising decent hands like 88, JTs, kjo, 89s sometimes late position against limpers, your play will be plenty disguised. No reason to raise with absolute garbage like this is most live games. People just love to call too much. If they are really awful, just call, although I probably muck this. On the button it's a call. That being said, I think I actually check the flop here. It's somewhat likely that someone has an ace, since they both called your preflop raise. If I had absolutely no hand no draw, then I might bet since getting check-raised isn't so bad. But now we have a draw to the nuts and facing a big check-raise is bad. Another thing, since you did decide to raise your 67, is that there is no way in hell they see your straight if it hits. Part of the reason people like to raise flush draws and obvious straight draws is because if they hit, they can't get paid. If someone has a hand and you make your straight, you're surely getting paid. If they both check the turn, I would fire out. They may put you on something like KK then, but most wouldn't have the cajones to bluff-raise you.

Re: live 300 NL str8 draw on flop
fold > call > raise.
You don't have the odds to call and I think a push has very little fold equity so you have to fold. You will get paid off if you hit so calling is better than pushing. |
