3.40 Stars turbo - flop decision
No real reads yet, but MP3 is 12.5/0 and CO is 56/5 both after 16 hands. Preflop, I was trying to isolate the pusher. I now feel that my isolation bet was a little large and a raise to 200/220 would be more in line. Either way, I would like your decision on flop as played, but other advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: 3.40 Stars turbo - flop decision
UTG+1 just lost 1430 in the last hand, so I feel he is just steaming with ATC. I'm sorry for omitting this in the original description (fwiw, the pusher had k4).
The reason I want to isolate is because AT isn't a powerful hand, but I'm way ahead of his range and feel AT plays better heads up. Is that bad reasoning? |

Re: 3.40 Stars turbo - flop decision
He's pushing 1.4 bb, I really think you're off base. This is a 3.40 turbo. Out of the 10 opponents, 2/3 might have an idea of how to play.

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't realize he was all in, but regardless you should not be raising AT here. The hand is complete garbage, theres absolutley no reason to spew chips here, especially if they players are bad.. getting multiple callers like you did in a terrible spot to be in. |

Re: 3.40 Stars turbo - flop decision
yes, I agree with you. That's why I raised to 350. I didn't want any other callers. If I called, everyone else would have called too.
Can you tell me your line on the flop? edit: I think there are only three possible options here: 1) flat call - this will price in everyone 2) raise to around 220 - this will price most marginal holdings out and will keep the pot smaller. 3) I think folding here is marginal, but it's a weak option. |

Re: 3.40 Stars turbo - flop decision
As played you are in a horrible spot (the reason you don't play AT here), your pretty unlikely to have the best hand and in sngs you aren't deep enough to be playing with what is currently second best (if that). Even this flop I think you need to check/fold to a big bet or else you will just be giving up the rest of your stack.
Really though this is always a fold pf, but if you don't want to agree then thats fine. |
