I just got Vista, and I'm wondering if I should looking into getting any specific antivirus? If it doesn't matter (Vista vs XP), then please suggest a good antivirus. Thanks.

Please tell me you went with Vista because you had to because you got a brand new computer and it came preinstalled?

There is absolutely no reason to purposely get Vista at this time. XP will still be strong two years from now.

Hell I would recommend people get XP Pro even if they were upgrading from Windows 98, rather then get Vista.

Gotta love opinions, they are like... Nevermind.

To each their own I say.

I agree with you for the most part, but this line just doesn't make sense on many levels. He has what he has no, he's not asking for your opinions on upgrades from windows 98.

anyways, the computer I just worked on today (first computer I touched with vista) apparently had norton pre-installed. I definitely don't recommend this program, but, it seems to work at least.

get and use CommonSense, too. it is an awesome little tool it stops you from clicking emails, popups, and links that you shouldn't. yes, anti-virus is important, but this little guy pretty much eliminates any threat to begin with.

note: I am not telling you to not get anti-virus, I'm just saying...use this tool too

I'm a bit BitDefender fan. They've released a working version for Vista and I've had no problems thus far

AVG is supposed to work with vista, though it certainly didn't work with the beta in my experience
