3bet the flop to $10, Yeti theorem ftw. As played, $7 on the turn, call a shove.

We really want to try to get this in against a checkraiser with only a 5 kicker? All I would be beating would be a bluff and 43.

People like to make plays at low (e.g 4) high boards and paired boards. Alot of the time this flop check raise is just that, a play. He may think you're just making a play at the pot so he made a play back.
His range is huge: if he has pocket 2's or the case 4 with a higher kicker then just reload and get over it. |

Just something to add to my above post:
As played with a min check raise he could even have a flush draw. He could be hoping to scare you - like it did to OP - and get a free river if he misses the turn. [ QUOTE ] and call a shove you're drawing thin to dead... [/ QUOTE ] I'd of three bet and folded to a shove. Sorry I should of said what i'd do as opposed to just posting about his range. The reload comment was meant to mean if he pushs then fold and reload. I'm sure I'm not the only one who reloads after loosing a sizeable pot? [ QUOTE ] If this is a play don't I want to just smooth call and let him make antoher play at the board, if I show my strength now won't he just give up on his play?? [/ QUOTE ] You have to 3bet to see where you are - you are either miles ahead or miles behind. I'm happy to take this pot down as soon as possible. |
