Default Newt Gingrich believes in and recommends Moneyball.

I saw Newt speak on my campus tonight.

He said "if you want to learn about leadership in government, there are three books you should read. First, Leadership by Rudy G, [some other book by rudy's police commish], and Moneyball (he didn't say by Billy Beane, though ;-) ).

He said "These books all deal with metrics. People say metrics don't work. They say 'we can't do this because it's not baseball. It's not baseball' They bash it because it makes them uncomfortable. They'd rather lose and have it feel like baseball than win in a new way".

He suggest 3 books on leadership and two of them are directly related to rudy guliani(sp) and the other one is a baseball book? What a clown.

All three of the books are about statistical metrics. They all relate. Do you see why?

I see the correlation. But that does doesn't make him any less of a clown.

He is a clown because he's a Republican, duh.

Actually, Newt has always been one of the handful of Republicans I had some respect for. He seems fairly sharp for a politician and comments like that are nice to hear.

Moneyball was a good book though, I don't even like pro baseball (I played my whole life though) but it still was very interesting, read it.

I like Newt as a writer, (has a great civil war trilogy) not so much as a politician.

Moneyball=Great book.
