Bodog software connection issues
I am having significant connection issues with Bodog, but I have never had them with others, such as Party, FTP or PokerStars. The help from Bodog has been limited to the "defrag your computer" nonsense, without addressing the actual error messages or their potential causes. I keep getting a stack overflow error message that terminates the program.
Is there an easy way to start troubleshooting these issues? Here is some background on what I am running. XP Home with a 6 month old computer Cable modem from Comcast What else do I need to know in order to troubleshoot this? Thank you. |

Re: Bodog software connection issues
"Stack overflow" sounds like a problem with memory, not with the connection. I use Bodog on XP and have never had that problem.
You'll probably need to take this to a more technical forum (google "stack overflow error message"). |

Re: Bodog software connection issues
You are not alone.
My Bodog client frequently crashes and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I have a good machine running XP Pro with plenty of memory and CPU power. Nothing I've tried makes any difference. I've filed this away under "more trouble than it's worth" and switched to PokerStars. I'd really appreciate a PM if you learn what the problem is. |

Re: Bodog software connection issues
I had an hour long conversation with bodog support a month ago about how bad their software was (or is) and that it crashes all the time and most of the time when it does it gives no error message. I was basically told bodog has flawless software, that I'm and idiot and that I should go play some where else.

Re: Bodog software connection issues
The glitches are occurring with greater frequency. They are always the same stack override error message. Would it help if I posted the error message details? Anything else to troubleshoot?
Thanks. |

Re: Bodog software connection issues
It crashes once a session but you can easily log back in and not miss a bet on 3 tables.

Re: Bodog software connection issues
It crashes after about 90 minutes when 3 tabling. I just try to anticipate it, and close the client at a good time and then reopen.

Re: Bodog software connection issues
Support emailed me back and said that their update was effed and a new one was in the works and should be available now when I log on. I just played at the office and it was fine. gg bodog, I love you, Calvin. Keep it open.

Re: Bodog software connection issues
Apparently, it is something with just my home computer. The error message is:
Instruction at "0x410092ed" referenced memory at "0x410092ed". The memory could not be "read" The program that was referenced was bpgame.exe I took my notebook home and it ran fine on the wireless. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I also disabled my virus protection to check if that was causing conflicts, but no luck. Same crash, over and over and over. |
