Do you expect anything when a waiter dumps a drink in your lap?

Last night at PF Changs a waiter dumped an entire majito directly into my wife's lap. There was no way she could sit through the meal, so I ran out and bought her some pants (this was in a shopping complex), she changed, and we went on with our meal. At the end, the bill included everything, including the drink.

I was kind of upset, but then thought about it. I guess a restaurant comps you something to keep you happy, but after she got new pants, we enjoyed our meal just fine. Do you expect something done for you in this instance? Do you complain about it if it isn't?
