beat: i saw a young bum today and he was crying while begging
I was walking to work this morning and as usual there i saw a bum on my way. This guy was different though. He was like 24ish and crying has eyes out while asking for 2 dollars. I felt bad so i gave him a buck. its a beat cause i felt bad.
varience: i met my mom for lunch in the city and we walked by a bum and she was like i saw this 20/20 special on bums and they followed this one guy and he got on a train afterwards and went to nj and lived in a decent house! she was like i heard bums make 120k a year... I was like maybe this guy made 120k and begged on the side haha mom

I have a theory that bums are probably struggling even worse since debit cards started to become the major source of payment. If I ever have change on me I'll give it to a beggar since it's most likely just gonna get lost in a couch or car seat if I hold on to it. However since the rise of debit cards I hardly ever have change on me...
