NL50 - Top pair weak kicker against preflop 3-bettor
No reads yet. How would you play this hand? Bet flop or induce bets from lesser hands by checking? Now that I decided to induce, I think I need to raise on turn. Of course my opponent could have the nuts and is slowplaying them but I take the risk. I think I also have a bit of fold equity against better pair of aces.
Ongame converter BB ($33.80) Hero ($65.45) ANTES/BLINDS Hero posts blind ($0.25), BB posts blind ($0.50). PRE-FLOP : Hero has A 4 Hero bets $1.25, BB bets $4, Hero calls $3. FLOP: A 3 J BB checks, Hero checks. TURN: 2 BB bets $8, Hero bets $30, BB calls $21.30 and is all-in. |

Re: NL50 - Top pair weak kicker against preflop 3-bettor
i dont like it
first of all, we need to find out which hands he has. after his reraising i put him on on A hand 50% of time. secondly, with given stacks, he wouldnt fold his ace here. as played, i call turn and evaulate river. without reads my intention is to fold river to PSB |

Am I the only one folding preflop vs a shallow stack here? I really don't think you played this hand well on any streets.

Re: NL50 - Top pair weak kicker against preflop 3-bettor
I'd fold pre-flop.
When I reraiser checks an A-high bord I proceed cautiously. It's a strange play. He probably has an Ace, but he could also have a pp or nothing. In this hand you have an A so you don't need to worry about bluffing the lower pairs. Therefore I would not raise at any point post-flop. An Ace will probably not fold. Call turn. Don't know about the river. I'd just go with my feeling there. |

Re: NL50 - Top pair weak kicker against preflop 3-bettor
check this flop all night. good
turn: call or fold. highly doubt flush draw or J is calling here. preflop: tough spot. vs unknown i might let go. But i see your logic in calling. |
