limcash - snap adjustments?
played a session today where my opponent was making multiple preflop mistakes, but was making up for it by reading hands well and playing a good overall counterstrategy against me.
I felt like I didnt adjust to him quickly enough, and ran hot enough to cover for that for a while, but when it inevitably turned around i realized i didnt have control of him. how quickly and how dramatically do you find yourself making adjustments to a player? After seeing a specific line once? never? four times? etc? also, are there specific adjustments that you'll make more readily than others? examples: villain is caught bluffraising river villain checks behind flop w a hand and initiative villain limps otb pf villain never checkraises flop w air etc do you make countermoves immediately when seeing these things, or do you want to see them a few times? thx! |

villain is caught bluffraising river [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't be folding any rivers after this with anything decent unless I started to think he was very smart. [ QUOTE ] villain checks behind flop w a hand and initiative [/ QUOTE ] I would put in less action when he checks again. I wouldn't like fold TP or something until I saw it frequently. [ QUOTE ] villain limps otb pf [/ QUOTE ] This doesn't change my strategy much. Maybe fold a little more pf OOP. [ QUOTE ] villain never checkraises flop w air [/ QUOTE ] never? Maybe if I play the guy for a 100 hands and don't see much flop bluffing, I'll play a little tighter when he raises. [ QUOTE ] do you make countermoves immediately when seeing these things, or do you want to see them a few times? thx! [/ QUOTE ] A lot of times you just have to guess. You won't always be right, but the more you play the better you'll get at it. Bad players have to do the same thing for you, but they're going to have a much harder time with it. |

Re: limcash - snap adjustments?
depends on the player most of the time they will be adjusting right back so if I notice something happening 2 or 3 times I am gonna go ahead and counter it. A lot of opponents c bet the flop 100 percent of the time so the obvious adjustment is to c/r catching any part of the flop. I start doing that after seeing them c bet like 3 flops in a row
