Default Your Mardi Gras plans

I think things should be pretty nuts around here, St. Louis has had the 2nd largest mardi gras party in the US, behind NO obv, so I assume this year we will have the biggest. Im starting friday at noon, taking work off early, going to start with a big plate of gator and fries, and proceed to get hammered for 3 days straight.
Little known things to see if you guys are in town:

Soulard area, the bastille (a gay bar), has drag races right out in front of the bar at about 1pm. By, drag races I mean all the infamous drag queens from around town do a 40 yd dash in full getup, its really hilarious.

The dog parade, which i dont go to, but Im sure some of you animal overs would be interested.

damn, I really cant think of the other fun stuff right now, it will come to me sooner or later.

No, I don't have any idea except that there are still hotel rooms available, or so CNN says. Not sure how reliable that is.

Uh, of all the problems mardi gras in new orleans is going to have, unavailability of lodging and overcrowding is very, very low on the list.
