Late in a Daily Double (FTP), JJ and a big stack.
There's probably about 40-50 left in one of the Daily Doubles. Normally I wouldn't have a problem playing this, but over about 20 hands villian has been very tight, only showing like KK once. What's my flop line? I think the turn is a pretty obvious fold as now even AK caught up.
He's also raising OOP, another danger sign. Re: Late in a Daily Double (FTP), JJ and a big stack.
Does anyone like a 3 bet preflop here? That would at least give you an opportunity to tighten villains range a little more. 20 hands is a pretty small sample size and the fact that he has shown only KK may only mean he has a been a little card dead for a few orbits. You may catch him raising with QJs or KQs something like that and he folds to a 3 bet. On that flop you are beating a lot more hands than TT. Depending on his range you are beating 77,TT,AJ+,KJ+. I agree that as played the turn is a definite fold. I think I would've liked to see a 3 bet preflop.

Re: Late in a Daily Double (FTP), JJ and a big stack.
On flop JJ has little equity against TT+,AQo+,AQs+.
I like raising on the flop in these kind of situations. Otherwise you can't know where you stand. With FE raise on flop is good idea i think. But raising here pretty commits us on the hand. I think our flop move depends on villain. Does he doublebarrel? Or cbet on flop? On turn? That turn A really hurts. Tough spot. But still i think raise on flop is good. Dangerous but even if we think his range is TT+,AQ+ our flop raise is +EV. |

3 bet pre next time. as played turn is a fold but flop should be a raise.

If you fold the turn this is perfect.
edit: [censored] 6 handed... agreed with 3bet. ~30,000 preflop |

If so, why not push myself and get called by AK? FWIW I had placed in the other tournament at like 140 or so. |

Re: Late in a Daily Double (FTP), JJ and a big stack.
yeah you have to call a shove. i think 6 handed with JJ you get it in fairly happily. Probably TT maybe 99 and AQ come into his shoving range, hands that would fold to a 3bet in a 9 handed game imo.
if he has ak what's the difference between 30k and shoving isnt it all going in anyway? |
