Home Upgrades
Im really getting into fixing up my house but dont want to spend a ton of money. Ive had an estimate on wood floors and its about $15000 for 1500 sf. Is that a good price? Also, what are some quick cheap things I can do to make it more pleasing to the eye and to live in. Thanks

Re: Home Upgrades
That seems way high for me unless you are getting some really expensive materials. In my area you can get nice wood floors installed under $7 sq/ft.
IMO, after re-painting, installing new baseboards and crown molding are the easiest way to fix a place up cheap. |

Re: Home Upgrades
Nice double-paned windows?
PG&E (west coast utility company) no longer offers a rebate for doing this, but your energy company may. Either way, you will save on heating & cooling costs as well as increase the value of your home. edit: oh wait, your said 'quick & cheap' huh? Get a mirrored disco ball. |

Re: Home Upgrades
Depends if you plan on staying long term or not. Consider Laminate and also new windows and new Kitchen will add to value.
