Default AC blackjack for the first timer

Going to AC this weekend, going to play blackjack for the first time. what should I expect as far as number of decks, rules etc. I want to make sure I have the right 'basic strategy' chart. (yes, I'm lame.)

Also, will I be able to get a seat in the Trop's poker room, or will I be waiting for hours, since it's labor day? I want to take a shot at 5/10 limit.

Lot's of single deck action, 2 to 1 paid for blackjack, split any pair as many times as you want, including aces, double down after split, surrender option available after first two cards, two to one paid for drawing five cards and not busting. Also the casino control commission just ordered the casinos to at least deal out to 80% deck penetration.

The Trop will be really crowded, with a 3 hour wait, for all 5/10, 10/20 and 20/40 action.

If only any of it was true..................

The Trop went from 5-10 to 4-8 many years ago.

I was in AC about a month ago, and the Borgata was the inly place I played that wasn't hitting soft 17 now, just an FYI. Anyboody know any other places where the dealer stays on soft 17?

Also, play the pink game if your role can stand it

the standard AC blackjack game (non high-roller pits):

8 deck shoe
cut usually 70-75% (if that matters to you)
dealer stand on soft 17
double down on any two cards
double down after split
split up to a total of 3 hands (sometimes 4)
no resplit aces, draw one card only
no late surrender

small exceptions:
borgata is all 6 deck tables
some of the "lower end" Harrah's properties are starting to hit on soft 17. these would be Wild Wild West/Claridge (Bally's), and the Showboat. no other AC casinos are reported to hit on soft 17 so far.

avoid all single deck tables in AC as they all pay 6:5 on blackjack. there are no double deck tables.

1. Is $25 a hand high roller?

2. Are there charts of basic strategy available, or should I bring my own?

what do you mean, at the table? this is the exact one you need

6 and 8 decks use the same chart. don't play any hit on soft 17 tables if you can help it.
