Default Basic noob Xbox/Media Center question

Probably deserves flaming, but oh well.

Looking at finally getting a 360. My living room is downstairs, computer and router are upstairs. I'd like to be able to enable Media Center from my PC to the downstairs TV if possible, so I could have another DVR.

Is this doable if I have the Xbox hooked up to my TV through wi-fi? And it can access my computer HD, right? Just thinking I might not need the Elite if I can use my computer HD for storing pics/DVR stuff. Or am I understanding it wrong?

Yip, you have it right. The 360 can access any computer on the same network it's connected to that has media sharing software enabled and play whatever's shared (pics/music/movies).

Are you wanting your XBOX to record stuff from your TV to your computer's HD?
