Default Would love math forumla help.

Hi all,

I'm trying to make up a SPR calcutor. This calculator can take into account how deep you are, and how many callers to meet a set SPR.

I've worked out the forumla for seeing the SPR is as follows

SPR = Stack Depth - Raise Amount / (Amount of callers * Raise amount) + 1.5

The 1.5 comes from assuming both blinds fold.

Or in other words

S=D-R/CR+1.5

Where
S = SPR
D = Depth of stack
R = Raise
C = Number of callers

What I need however is to change it around to solve R. I'm trying to give people the calculator (which will be posted up on 2+2) so they can enter in details such as their stack depth, and see how much to raise to achieve a SPR.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

S=D-R/CR+1.5
S(CR+1.5)=D-R
S(CR+1.5) - D= -R
D-S(CR+1.5) = R

I think...

R = C(1.5-S+D)

Edit: Kerowo's formula is not usable since the R occurs in both sides of his equation.
S = D - R/RC + 1.5
S = D - (1/C)R + 1.5
S - D - 1.5 = -(1/C)R
(1/C)(-S+D+1.5) = R

I'm a bit drunk still, and don't know what this formula is really trying to calculate- do both instances of R measure the same thing?

If so, you're not going to be able to calculate anything about raises from this formula- it just cancels. CowsFTW's algebra is incorrect.

Yes, my algebra is incorrect, I see it. Apologies.

Ahh, I thought it was a single term.

Using mathematica's Reduce function gives:

R = sqrt(3C + 2CD - 2CS)/sqrt(2) {where C!=0}

EDIT: Fixed, as Mathematica was treating "1 1/2" as "1*1/2 = 1/2"... So now using: "Reduce[S == D - R/C*R + (3/2),{R}]
