Default Ok so what do Canadians do?

Hi folks,

I'm not a money transfer savvy person. I had money in my neteller. I'd transfer from sites back to neteller and then to my bank account.

What do these news mean and what am I supposed to do? Can I withdraw sums such as 50,000$ from Pokerstars to my bank account and then to a different website or how am I supposed to function?

What do I do with the 50k sitting in my neteller account right now?

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

I haven't looked much into it, but my solution is probably going to be to play exclusively at Party (EFTs).

Granted, I have barely looked at any e-wallet or middleman options other than neteller. For from what I have seen they are either shady, confusing, or expensive.

Playing only at party is not a viable solution, I might as well quit poker then :P

So there's basically no neteller alternative as it stands or what?

OK so the options are ePassporte, Moneybooker and Click2Pay.

What steps do I need to take to go from 50k in Neteller to being able to use one of those services and which do you folks recommend and why?

Is depositing money on poker sites a reasonable option?

You have until April 9 to get your money out of NETeller into your bank.

Your money in PS, however, cannot get to NETeller anymore. Ask for checks.

Isn't this completely incorrect? I'm pretty sure that gambling transactions will be allowed until April 9th and then after that you will (supposedly) still have the ability to move money to/from your bank and non-gambling merchants indefinitely.

I believe this is incorrect. According to the press release, We can use Neteller until April 9 to move money on and off sites. After April 9, we can still withdraw our money to a bank account and use it for non-gaming transactions (LOL), but NOT for gaming transactions. The only thing that has changed as of right now is we have lost the ability to use Instacash.

Now whether Neteller will hold to this, I'm not going to specualte. What I CAN say is that I withdrew from PS to Neteller earlier today...only a half-hour after their press release, but it WAS today, and it worked fine.

Also, sites may start dropping Neteller for Canadians, knowing they'll have to in two weeks anyway. Not sure why, but Party already jumped all over this, apparently.

Edit to add: After I withdrew from PS, I deposited this money onto a couple of Microgaming sites for bonuses. This worked as well. AFAIK, everything is still working fine.
