Default Reminder, Its not about us, its about the fish.

This idea im about to state is one that has been sprinkeled on almost every thread weve had reguarding the IGB over the past few months. This latest change of events (no neteller instacash), is a very very big blow for online poker.
While everyone in this forum has thought of 3 more ways to get money onto their site of choice, the fish simply have not and most likely will not.
Ex: If you were a common 40/m/usa player who only played on the evening hours (hours fish are on), and you got banned from partypoker, then took 3 weeks to move to fulltilt where you got hammered by rocks, then moved to ps where you lost the ability to deposit, you are going to be fed up with the system by now.
Furthur, if you a "winning" player as im sure everyone here is of course*, you have had to see substantial profit decline in the last few months. Sure it was great in late Nov/Dec (which is always is in yearly cycles), but now the new calandar has turned and peoples monies tighten up. It might be time to head back to the B&M's =( . . .

Either way this post came off more as a string of thoughts i know, but these are all points that need to be conidered... when playing poker.

Finnaly a few things we should look for:
1) any major dips in players volume on the sites. (check pokerscout for this in the comming days).
PokerSite Scout.
2)will another major deposit option arise? Neteller was grand, PP had an easy system with EFT, but not the optins are quiete limited. Unless a major giant on scale of PayPal/Netteller/Firepay can step up there will be low confidence by the fish, and hence less a chanche they feel comfortable to deposit.
3)Will pokersites respond with Hugh deposit bonuses? To keep players playing -> this might be essesntial.

Ok, this post ends here, i expect many ppl to tell me to put on my tin hat, to go back to my 50nl game, to critique me in anyway felt fit. This post was just some thoughts iv had for some time, and some are just the concensus of the avg 2p2 debate.

have fun, chop it up. discuss.

If the fish trust the site, they will trust the banking links provided: instabet, click2pay, etc...

the rebuttal to this is that most fish dont know they are fish, and they will through the same trouble the winning players will to get money onto sites.

who knows what will happen, we can't doing anything but wait and see.

I agree that the number of fish will diminish, but that falls in the category of "sucks but nothing you can do about it." I'm just glad I'll still be able to play online at all- I wasn't sure I would in the early uncertain days after the act passed.

This will result in a reduction in fish, much like the sites breaking off Americans. But the fish adapted from credit cards to neteller, and there is no reason they can't change from neteller to echecks or to some other payment service. I think a lot of the fish used echecks with places like IGMPAY anyway, so I don't know if it's really *that* big of a deal, as long as reasonable alternatives emerge and the sites don't shut out Americans even more. The real threat is neteller screwing the sites more than anything - this is why sites like Bodog are so quick to shut out neteller.

I used to think this, but when I play at B&M the biggest donators usually know they're not good, and are just having some fun.

Online poker as we knew it back in the glory days of destroying partypoker for 5bb/100 is now over.

This is not true for Online poker. Online Poker in the U.S, yes.. But sites like PartyPoker are promoting lots in Canada and Europe - for example I noticed that Party is running a televised game with European Soccer players (and coaches) playing against european pros. They have a very similar thing for the Canadians - Canadian hockey stars playing, and Elisha Cuthbert is the host

If you're not living in the US, I think online poker still has alot of room to grow - the quality in the games I play is DRASTICALLY different at Stars and FT in comparison to the sites that aren't accepting US players.
