Default can anyone beat this?

i sold sporting bet last week for 47.5p. now at 60.75p

i sold most of my partygaming shares on monday for 32.5p. now at 39p

i sold most of my 888 shares on monday for 95.5p. now at 117.25p

i sold most of my uramin shares on monday for 193p. now at 263p. (i only bought uramin 2 weeks ago for 265p as well)

if anyone can beat that, ill be impressed.

fwiw, the shares i bought, if i hadnt done any trading with them:
WINNERS:
party: 27p to 39p: 44% rise in 2.5 months
sportingbet: 43p to 60.75p: 41% rise in 2 months
playtech: 281p to 356p: rise 26% in 2 months
urasia: 305p (should of been 275p really) to 322p: 5.5% rise in 1 month
strateco resources: $2.85 to $3.35: 17.5% rise in 1 month
uramin: zero change in 1 month
LOSERS
888: 132p (just checked i bought them at that) to 117.5p. 12.5% loss.

i also made a 9% rise in 1 month of dealing sab miller.

for my 8 shares, thats an average rise of 16.3%.

but yet becuase ive interferred with them, ive about evens i'd guess. sick. memo to self: stick with your shares LONG TERM.

I would agree, what were the reasons that you dumped all of these? Did you get scared last week?

i dumped party becuase i read scaremongering saying it could drop to mid 20s again.

i dumped 888 becuase it went down another 5% that morning.

i dumped uramin for same reasons.

i can make 15% return on each of these shares in one hour playing online. it was the fact it was affecting my poker play which caused me to dump these shares.

now i want to get a portfolio which i am committed to it in the long term. i felt i was with these gaming shares, but i let my emmotions get in the way.

now i want to build a balanced portfolio which i do not sell in the bad times, but keep for the long term.

this is what im trying to do.

ha ha.

fwiw, i guess im about evens so far. and thats not an 'im down but ill round it up to evens'. in fact i may be marginally ahead, marginally.

all i want is a portfolio with say 12% returns.

just getting savings account of 5.5%, or like 1% above taxes+inflation just sucks.

No I mean with all of that, how much expected yield did you lose by selling last week?

the three shares have since gone up 20%, 20% and 35%. but they will probs continue to rise and i will lose out on way more. mentally i dont want to rebuy them. yeah i know, you should consider whether it will rise or not and forget the past, just on this one occasion it'll be better to move on.

i got an economics degree so i could go into a city job. you got an biology degree so you could...oh [censored]...wait a minute.

you asked for advice, you got it, nobody took the piss.

i asked for advice, i've kindly got it from most, you decide to take the piss. really no need, i just want constructive criticism and suggestions. sorry if this is a bit anal, but your remark came out from nowhere. insult my investments, insult my poker play, insult the fact i cant be bothered to use capital letters, heck, insult my mum, but please dont insult my brain.

Ummm... ok 10k IQ test yo? Apparently that economics degree is serving you real well.

Kane's path to millions
1. Keep posting 20 different times, asking how's my portfolio?
2. Completely ignore all of the advice here
3. Stick all of your money into the most volatile areas of the market
4. ???
5. Profit!

I have to say I'm not surprised at all, you come into the finance forum with a new idea every week or two, but every single one is backed by the same misguided logic.

Stick to poker, since you apparently win at it.
