Lost my rear end tonight..........ugh
At the shoe playing 20-40 did well. Had a few cocktails and as I was leaving the poker room I thought, "what the hell i'll play a few hands of blackjack". Bad idea, I must have lost 15 damn hands in a row, seriously. I swear every time I had 20 I lost. I know I know, it was stupid to play a house game, but like a said I had a few drinks and was with friends. Needless to say, I put back the $1,200 I won at poker back in about 20 minutes, no joke. Is the damn blackjack beatable in the short or long run? Anyway, just had to vent, mods delete if you want lol.

Were you playing the 6 deck shoe game? Penetration is poor at the Shoe, usually only 65% - 70%. This means you need to use at least a 1-12 spread and wong out agressively in neg counts. They don't allow mid-shoe entry and it is H17, so not a good game. If you don't understand what I am saying, then NO -- you should not be playing. House edge is -.35%

didnt understand all of it.... they dont have 6 decks at the shoe anymore, they now have 8 decks. I had a +6 +7 count a few times and still lost quickly. They allow mid shoe entry from a shoe, but not in single and double deck games. What is penetration. Also, shuffle tracking is impossible as they use those machines to shuffle.....sucks

Penetration is how far into the shoe they let you get before moving onto the next shoe - some places are now cutting this shorter to lessen the edge that counters have due to shuffle machines at most BJ tables at their establishments
