50-100, four´way pot going a little crazy
This is a bit of a brag, but I do think the play on the turn and river is kind of interesting. And to a lesser extent the flop.
Obviously the table was in insane gamb00l-mode and the only decent player folded preflop. Preflop the other players' ranges were about "two cards, maybe one of them is high or something", on the flop it was pretty much a certainty that any pair and any backdoor draw sticks around regardless of capping. Turn was a little bit more iffy but I figured on getting 3 calls on 12-18 outs as well as added hilarity if I hit and some extra benefits in the form of massive tilt for everyone and frozen riverbetting in case I hit my pair outs. At the river I thought, "ah, [censored] it I'm supposed to put in like 1 bluff for every 100 valuebets I make and I'm not going to find a bluffier hand in this sequence ever." Then I though "whee!" Re: 50-100, four´way pot going a little crazy
Ok, preflop is pretty much undebatable. That's just 100% value against their ranges. So I don't see why you have a problem with that.
Flop, donking may free up a K or Q if AK/AQ are out without flush possibilities. Honestly, the only thing I particularly ponder about the flop is whether I should've capped that too. Turn, yeah it's non-standard but I actually like to not be entirely predictable and show up without utter nuts every time I check 3-bet the turn. You may estimate their ranges differently, but I played a few thousand hands with these people and felt pretty sure that they were loose as all hell. Also, it was funny. Again, I don't have a real problem with my equity and every extra little bit helps when the pot is monstrous. River, it is certain that I actually should bluff there some very small part of the time and I decided that this is it. It's not as if I'll show something else beside a monster there more than a tiny percent of the time. |

I think the likelihood of folding out AK or AQ on the flop are very slim in this game. The raise on the turn is almost certainly not for value and typically people call down w/anything when they're not good so I don't think it's for folding value either.

Re: 50-100, four´way pot going a little crazy
The brag part is giggling about "HAHAHAHA two [censored] guys folded getting 25:1, I cannot believe this." Obviously there's no clear indication that it was a good play at all, and certainly not something much to brag about in itself.
That's not really the point though. If I thought it was really cut-and-dried the best play I wouldn't bother to post since there wouldn't be anything meaningful for me to think about. What's interesting about this hand is thinking about hand balancing against very weird players in really big pots and just where the cut-offs for valueraises are. There's also some stuff worth thinking about how you keep this sort of game at the boiling point so people will continue to isolate preflop with hands like 54o. |
