Re: Card Tricks
Ok,
Here is a simple "self working" card trick that is easy and can get a good reaction. Start with a standard pack of cards, no setup is required. Hand the cards to your spectator and tell them to shuffle the pack until they are happy they are mixed up etc etc. Take back the pack of cards and tell the spectator you are going to make a two predictions... emphasise you aren't going to alter the order of the pack (you aren't) The first thing you need to do is look at the first two cards on the top of the pack, lets assume they are Ad and Js. Now you need to find the Ah and Jc. Shuffle through the cards and put these two "predictions" face down on the table. Now hand the pack back to your spectator... Ask them to deal some cards off the top of the pack face down into a pile on the table... Once the top two cards have been dealt you can tell them they can deal cards from the middle of the pack, bottom whatever. Let them deal half the pack or so.. Now disregard the remainder of the pack. As your spectator to pick up the pile of cards from the table. Now ask them to deal that pack face down alternately into two piles... When they have done that ask them to turn over the top card of each pile... Now reveal your predictions... Voila, your two prediction cards should match red ace, and black jack. have fun. |

Re: Card Tricks
Here's one of my all time favorites, known as "The Wizard".
First, you need a buddy to whom you will explain the trick. Also, you need to know when you can contact him or her by phone. So, for whatever reason the subject of card tricks comes up. You say, "Hey, I know a guy who is so good at picking cards they call him the Wizard. He doesn't even have to be in the same room to tell you what your card is." At this point have your subject pick one card from a deck and show the card. Now say "OK, I'm going to call The Wizard and have him tell you your card.". Let's say the card is the nine of clubs. The call will go like this: Your Buddy: "Hello" You: "Hello, is the Wizard there?" (that phrase clues him that the trick is on.) Your Buddy: "Spades, hearts, clubs You (interrupting): "Let me talk to him." (By stopping him on clubs, he now knows the suit.) Your Buddy: Ace, deuce, trey, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine... You (interrupting again): "Hey, Wizard, how's it going. I've got a guy here who wants you to tell him what card he picked, OK?" Hand the phone to the trickee and your buddy will say "Nine of clubs?". Watch them darn near faint. |

Re: Card Tricks
Get someone else to shuffle the pack
Sneak a look at the bottom card It's real easy to draw from the bottom of the pack but make it look like your dealing from the top Lots of tricks you can work out from here I'm sure you can find picks/video on the net somewhewer. |

Re: Card Tricks
This one is by no means easy to learn IMHO, but if asked to name a cool card trick, I always think of "paperclipped."
Clip of the trick part of the instructional video. http://media.penguinmagic.com/movies/products/7006a.wmv |

Re: Card Tricks
Here's a pretty simple one;
Get your observer to shuffle the deck or whatever, make sure they're random. Then take the deck back, look at the first card, and find and remove the other three of the same rank, and show them to your observer. Just tell him you need three of the same type. Place them face down in a pile, and deal three 'garbage' cards face down, so that the fourth of that rank is on the bottom. Then, starting with the 'garbage', alternately put one card from each pile back on top of the deck. Get your observer to take the top three off, and 'all three will be back in order'. It seems really easy to figure out, but I've shown this to a lot of people, none have got it (right away at least). |
