Press the PrntScrn button. That will do a print screen and copy it to the clipboard. Then go into a paint program, create a new image and then paste image in from clipboard.

Hitting Print Screen copies an image of what's on screen to the clipboard.

When you open Paint, then hit control-V to copy the image from the clipboard into Paint.

Then use Paint to save the image wherever you want it.

And if you hold down ALT while pressing PrtScr, you will get only the active window.
