I'm not a big fan. You fold to a 3 bet? He could easily 3 bet AKs there.
You are also likely drawing to 2 outs. |

Turn raise is too much IMO after that flop action.

I cap preflop every time, but I don't play this high. I don't really see the reason for raising the turn. You may have underrepresented your hand, but against his range I don't think you have the equity you need.

Re: something I\'ve been doing a lot more of lately
AJ/AA/QQ/AJ, KQ sometimes, AK sometimes (pretty much always on those two if they are spades). sometimes nut spade draw or TT/88 will continue the charade on this particular turn card. i'm losing to KK/JJ/99/77 and that's about it?
fwiw if I had capped pf I wouldnt raise the turn. |

[/ QUOTE ] this depends a ton on my image, if people think I'm out of line I think it's a crime not to cap. also, do you almost never cap anything here? or are you capping cooler stuff like T8s?? |

Turn raise is too much IMO after that flop action. [/ QUOTE ] Does everyone autocap the flop? How about calling the flop threebet and delivering a turn raise on a non scare card? Turn bet is more likely a "don't give the free card to a flush draw" or v-bet play than a semibluff and with the king appearing I don't think you are ahead of 2/3 of his range. IE he doesn't have AKs here often enough to warrant a raise. |

[/ QUOTE ] I dont play this high so maybe the games play differently, but after you cap the flop and he still donks the turn I give much more weight to JJ 99 77 KK than a hand like AJ. Even if you add in K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] AJ QQ AA with equal weight, intuitively I dont think you are a big enough favorite vs his range to raise and open yourself up to a 3 bet which you cant fold to vs an unknown. |
