Default Why all the NIT hating?

Ever stop to think that it might not be the NIT's who need to loosen up, It might be the Tags and Lags's that need to tighten up at?

How profitable are those extra 4-6% of hands or so?

Everyone thats not a nit claim nits can't play very well, most nits are loosers, nits suck at poker blah blah blah, wheres the proof? There are so many nits out there that there has to be a reason they are playing nitty doesn't there?

People go thru small databases of 2-10K hands on nits and claim thats the proof, thats not proof, you need a much larger sample size then that.

Everyone says nits are to tight and are easily expoitable blah blah blah but how many tables are the non nits playing?

I'm a nit and I dont think I'm very exploitable. My early and middle game is ultra tight and my late game is rather broad, (Disclaimer: For a Nit)

Since I 15 table I have to play like a nit to make the most $$ possible.

I find it much more profitable to play a nitty game 15 tabling then a TAG/LAG one 4-6 tabling.

I play NL full ring 15 tables at a time, I can't play a LAG/TAG game running at 16/10 very well, playing that many tables at once. I tried

My 1st 100K hands at NL100 I was playing a 16/9 style 12 tabling. My winrate ok, it was 2.01 PTBB/100

I saw a ton of people playing ultra tight, people like 1pokerboy comes to mind and figured there had to be a reason they were doing it. So I decided to change gears and try a nitty style.

My last 80K hands as a nit (12/7) I am running at 3.36PTBB/100

I tightened up, dumped some marginal hands and my winrate went up over 65%

Now how profitable are those extra 4-6% of hands exactly?

Since becoming a nit my winrate went up a ton and my variance decreased a ton.

I have no idea what a good winrate is for fullring but I think mine is pretty decent since I 15 table, practice no table selection and play 75% of my hands between 7am-2pm eastern time, when the games are not exactly the greatest.

Any LAG/TAG players who run 16/10 or higher or who consider themselves not a nit, who have a LARGE sample size care to share their winrate and show us how much better a LAG/TAG is? Also how many tables do you play at a time?

AMEN. I posted this 10 days ago. Admittedly, my PFR% needed to increase. Over my last 50k hands, I've taken care of that (ran at 16/7). I 12 table.

Dobie (FT) is running at 26/18 and 4.5+ptbb/100 for June (15,000+ hands), and is one of the top 5 $$$ winners at NL100 for June according to my DB. (I'm at work, so I guesstimated on the low end).

I'd be interested in learning what NL_fools and lifetilt's screenames are

I'm 17/13/4(looser lately) +4.04ptbb/100 over my last 120k hands, I fully expect to have a higher winrate over the next 100k

I think nits can make decent money but the ceiling is lower for their max, also if the games get tougher I think they will see their winrate drop off more than teh good tags/lags

[/ QUOTE ] There is none. The fact is most people are loosers period regardless of their starting hands.

Nice winrate, how many tables are you playing? I have you running at 14/8 in my database.

You've also called me a fish before while we were playing whe I took a really weird line against you. I didn't think you would pay me off since you know I'm a nit and I took the line that I thought would extract the most money possible.

Do you prefer the 16/7 style or the previous nittier version of you?

Which style won you the most money?
