It depends on the person. Some people like tiling tables, some like cascading. If you have a big monitor and can comfortable tile all tables you're on, I think, it's better.

6max or fullring... try both, but I believe you should start from fullring (no matter cash or sng).

On PokerStars, you can play 12 tables if you want. It's easier to play Full ring with a lot of tables because on average you have more time to act.

And you can change the size of every table on PS.

You're not gonna get too many tables on that. I play on a 14" laptop but i got a 1400x900 resolution so I can do 6 tables tiled pretty comfortably. I'm guessing you have a lower resolution plus you have a smaller screen. I doubt you'd be able to play more than 4 tables. Do yourself a favour and buy a monitor to connect your laptop to.

Also I would never cascade tables, you lose so much information. The time it takes t switch between table and get to the right one is just too long. If you can't tile them I wouldn't play.

I have a 17" laptop, i forget what resolution i'm running but its and odd ball one for the widescreen. I can fit 4 tables on without resizing. Haven't tried more than 4 but i would bet i could do 6 or 8 without a problem.

15" laptop here, 1440 x 900...

4 tables are easily, no strain
5 aren't to bad, but the top 3 are small (bottom two large) so it is a bit harder
6 can be done
7+ is a struggle and uncomfortable...tiny tables with overlap
