20NL JJ flops set - turn scare card
Villain is 55/5 over very small sample, and as far as I can see he has not shown any major aggression
I am fairly new to the table and my image should be pretty tight Carlos Poker 0.10/0.20, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker saw flop | saw showdown Button Button ($25.93) SB ($1.45) BB ($7.41) UTG Hero ($19.90) UTG+1 UTG+1 ($18.69) Preflop: Hero is UTG with J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero raises to 0.80, UTG+1 calls 0.80, Button calls 0.80, 2 folds. Flop (2.70) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bets 2.02, 1 fold, Button calls 2.02. Turn (6.74) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] What do you bet here and do you call a shove, if called do you shove river? |

Call shove. I think you are getting just about good enough odds here? Maybe bet more on flop; PSB. It is a very scary flop for your hand.

Yeah - I agree with the bet sizing - I think that I should have potted flop and turn - would also had given me even better odds to call a shove...

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I mean I think you still probably have to call with 10 outs and the chance this could be like AdQx, AdTx, 99, or whatever, but man it sucks and I wouldn't like calling at all. |

Dude...you just started playing again? How are you already getting yourself into these spots?
You should pot the flop for sure. I dunno' if I agree with potting the turn because it gives us odds to call a shove. Realistically, before we make the turn bet decision if we say "Ok, I am going to make this bet bigger so I can mathematically justify calling a shove" are we not effectively calling a shove right there (so we would need to do the math as if we were putting everything in on the turn immediately)? This is one of those grey mathematical areas that I do not really understand. |

Re: 20NL JJ flops set - turn scare card
i´m betting here. if called i c/c a blank river to let him bluff missed draws.
concerning a push from a unknown i usually call here. i´m not sure this is right though regarding that i stack off way too light against unknowns. villain knows that this is a scare card for you and may try to push you off the pot. his range for calling you preflop is pretty wide though and there are a lot of draws he could have picked up. so imo your equity against his range is really good and even if villain has you beat you have a lot of outs. |
