Default Betting Moneylines

If a team is a huge favorite, do you think it's worth it to bet the moneyline?? Such as tonight in ncaa with memphis a 22.5 favorite.

Foolish not really worth it unless you parlay a couple together, then it really isn't worth it either.

Think UNC losing to NC State when UNC was like a 22 point fav with a -3000 ML. Shiat happens.

I heard I don't have the balls to bet ML's.

Myturn2raise had a thread on 'virtual locks' or something a few months back.

He was specifically looking at the Michigan vs. Ball State football game and bet on Michigan at -2000 or something like that.
Ball State lead for part of the game and had the ball almost to the goal-line with a chance to tie late in the 4th Q.

Some of those money-line 'locks' suddenly don't look so spectacular anymore when the underdog somehow keeps it close right to the finish by some miracle.

That said, I would probably be reasonably comfortable with Memphis at -3000 at home vs. Rice and would have considered taking it if I had thought about it in time.
And, as I say that, Rice leads 14-11 in the eaely going.

I don't know how many other books it's on.
But on Pinny right now/

NEV -2200 (or points-spread -16)

NEV is #10 in nation and is 24-2.
Idaho is 3-23, 1-12 in the WAC.

Incredibly though, almost all of Idaho's conf losses have been close so they might not be quite as bad as a 3-23 record would indicate.
9 games of 9 or less among their last 12
Lost by:
5 UC-Riverside
9 La Tech
9 Utah St
2 Fresno St
3 San Jose St
1 La Tech
Beat Hawaii by 1
5 New Mex St

And Nevada has been winning but normally not by insane margins lately.
Game is at Idaho.

I would almost be tempted to bet both sides of this because I'm a ridiculously stupid square-bettor who does things he knows he's not supposed to.

+16 on Idaho and ML on Nevada.

Meh, probably not.

There used to be a site that calculated what the ML should be based on the spread or vice versa. Not an actual answer to your question, but there are times when you should be betting the +115 instead of the +2.5 or something. Although, IIRC it may only have been useful for football.

To make sure I say something useful, clearly Homer's "it depends" is the correct answer.

Any sites around here that give you bonus for depositing? I'm considering leaving bodog, they are pretty poor... I stay awake late and like to catch the early lines, which is impossible at bodog.
